المشكلة
In many factories, the office network and the production network grew together — or are the same network. A single infected laptop can reach machinery; a misconfigured machine can disrupt office systems. Neither side was designed for the other's risks.
لماذا يهم هذا
IT systems prioritize confidentiality and frequent updates; OT systems prioritize availability and stability, often running for years unchanged. Mixing them means an office security incident can stop production — and a production fault can spread to business systems.

Assess how IT and OT currently connect, where unnecessary paths exist, what data genuinely needs to flow between them, and how remote vendor access is controlled. Segmentation should follow operational need, not default openness.
